In its statement, the movement expressed sorrow over the incident and offered prayers that the great Special Olympics founder would soon heal.
The statement also stressed that the Special Olympics family works on daily basis to achieve the vision and noble objectives that made Mrs. Shriver launch the movement. Now, this movement has flown to all corners of the globe to inflict positive change on the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities through sports, and have them acquire the respect, acceptance and involvement they deserve.
The Special Olympics Middle East and North Africa regional office, in turn, sincerely prays for speedy recovery to Mrs. Shriver being the noble and humane value to the region and the entire movement.

The MENA region family remembers last July 10th, when a candle was lit in celebration of Mrs. Shriver’s 88th birthday. The family now vows to keep the candle aflame until she has been granted the bliss of recovery.
